I need a reality check!

I would like to know if I have a decent shot at getting into any of these schools: Yale, Stanford, Cornell, U Chicago. I'm a white female, I'm at the top of my class, and I've always taken the hardest classes (although my school has just now started adding honors classes, and they're not that big on AP yet either). I have around a 4.06 cumulative, I get straight A's, and I have taken/will be taking 7 out of the 8 AP classes offered at my school. I've been in band (concert and marching) for all 4 years, I've been involved in Spanish club and National Honor Society all possible years, and I've tried a few other clubs for one or two years each. I haven't done any volunteering outside of NHS, and I don't do sports. I got a 36 on my ACT, a 2280 on my SAT, a 780 on my SAT Math II subject test, and a 620 on my Physics subject test (which I will probably be retaking) on my first time each. I will probably be majoring in physics (most likely theoretical physics). I would just like to know what my chances are here! Thanks for your help :)

okay getting a 36 on your ACT is such an accomplishment, so congrats. Also, great GPA. there are a few things that an adcom would question on your application and you pretty much stated them. You need volunteering hours… it pretty much is a must for schools that you listed, especially since you do not play sports. The other thing that I notice is that you lack leadership positions which might hurt you. That being said, you are a female applying for physics with a 36, so that also boosts up your chances by a lot, so keep working hard and you possibly could be accepted. Just try to get in those community service hours in order to raise your chances that tiny bit more. Good Luck!
