Well, I need a final list of schools. I have already applied ED to Penn SEAS for bioengineering. Here is my list--
Penn (ED) 1st choice
Stony Brook 2nd
Cornell 3rd
Columbia (my parents want me to apply just because...)
Rochester
NYU Stern

Except for NYU, I am going to apply for bioengineering at all schools. The problem is my list is full of reaches. Stony Brook is my only safety, but since I am out of state, I am worried I may get rejected there also. Any other safeties you can recommend that have good bioengineering programs. I am looking for a school in the NJ, NY, PA area, around an hour or so from Long Island, NY.

My stats:
4.0 UW GPA, toughest courses
About 2100 SAT
700+ on Math IIC and Chem

These are rough estimates of my stats, not the exact ones. Please don't ignore my thread as a chance one. I don't want to learn about my chances at those schools. I just need a safety so I don't end up getting rejected at all schools. Thanks.

you'll probably get into stony brook relatively easily, probably cornell even though its still a low reach cause it is for everyone really, NYU stern idk about but definitely NYU
another match is probably emory
safety idk really depends where you wanna be..

Thanks guys. I am looking into those universities. However, do you guys have other recommendations, such as state universities? Because money is quite a big of a problem for me. My dad is not working right now because of his illness. The Ivies are notorious with helping with need based aid so those are the private schools I am applying to. NYU is just to see if I have the capability to get into a top business school. I know NYU has horrible financial aid so it is more than likely that even if I get in, I will not attend.

Hopkins has the most selective and the best bioengineering program. My stats are not high enough. I have not really looked at MIT because, again, my stats aren't high enough.
