Hey guys! So I will be a sophomore this fall and I’m super excited. My first year of college I attended Winthrop University in South Carolina. Now I will be attending Oakland Community College in Michigan this fall to ease my transition and to save some money. I, of course, will be transferring next fall (2020) and I don’t know a lot about the process. I plan on applying to the University of Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Wayne State (I would love suggestions of other schools as well!). My top school is the University of Michigan! My application would be submitted around January so only my first year and this fall semester will be included. I’m not sure of what career I want to go into but I am leaning more towards a Public Health/ Health Administration major for either possibly going into the medical field or public health field. I have talked to the program manager of the Public Health School at U of M for a while about my credits and requirements and she was super helpful but I’m unsure about my stats and if I’ll get in. If anyone could provide some insight I would GREATLY appreciate it.
My Stats:
GPA:
3.18 (From freshman year but I plan on getting a 4.0 so it should go up to 3.45ish)
EC:
I had a high leadership community service position during my freshman year and did phone polling for the CDC last semester. I have a TON of ECs from high school as well. I plan on doing a lot of volunteering and possibly assisting at a local clinic this fall. I’ll also be pulling in a part-time job as well.
CREDITS:
I have 24 from my freshman year and I’m taking 13 this semester. I’ll be taking a chemistry CLEP exam as well this fall. So I should be getting about 41 when I apply.
Thanks for reading my long post!
