I Need Advice For My Senior Year Schedule

Hello CCers! I am currently a junior in a semi-competitive, public school in Michigan. I need help deciding my senior year schedule! Here is some background info:

I am planning to apply to the following colleges:
Duke
Dartmouth
University of Michigan
Boston College
Georgetown
And a safety school, of course.

I have competitive grades, scores, and ec's for these schools, imo. (Obviously no one has great chances at schools of this caliber, but I think I am a competitive applicant.)

My senior year schedule will consist of 5 core classes and 1 elective. However, I am interested in taking 6 core classes. Here they are:

Ap calc bc (required)
Ap spanish (required by mom, lol)
Ap english (required)
Ap physics
Ap us history
Ap micro economics

As you can see, I need to drop either physics, us history, or micro.

As far as what I am interested in, I am considering majoring in some combination of econ, international relations, and history.

Based off this, what class do u think I should drop?
What would look good for colleges?
What would be most helpful for my future major(s)?
What wold be the easiest/most fun?

P.S. will colleges frown on my choice to take an elective over an ap senior year? (Obviously they would rather see another ap, but is it a dealbreaker?)

P.P.S. if I don't take us, I will pass out in the summer. Does anyone know of any ways to do this other than just taking summer school? And, will colleges frown upon me passing out instead of taking the class?

Definitely drop physics. I was in the same boat as you last year. I like the social sciences, but I was told to take physics because it looked good. It’s a horrible class especially if you’re like me and don’t wanna do anything with science whatsoever. Take what you want to take.

I’d drop the physics. Since you’re going into econ, international relations, or history, physics wouldn’t have much point.

And senior year is somewhat of a good testing ground for what you want to do in college. So I would take what you’re interested in.

^I agree say adios to physics and take the elective just find one that’s relevant to what you plan on doing like world cultures-depends on what your school offers though.

Take a look at my senior year schedule on the thread “Input on senior year schedule…”?

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

The only thing is I like the physics teacher more than the us teacher, and physics goes along with the math I will be taking. Also, apus is the hardest class at our school!

I’m really having trouble deciding!

You could try doing independent study APUSH. It isn’t a difficult class, per se, but there is a lot of material to cover. If you get a solid APUSH guide book, and perhaps have a classmate or student who has taken the class take you under their wing, you will probably be fine. Just remember that racking up AP classes means nothing unless you actually take the test. Otherwise, the class will only appear as “honors/advanced” on your transcript. Therefore, don’t necessarily take a class that will “look good”…choose one that you think will be the most beneficial.
