hey....i need to know which book would be best for me....i need one that is concise and effective....i need one that is really good for critical and math.....i dont want one that is long cause i might be short of time....should i get rocket review, maximum sat, gruber's, barrons 2400...PLEASE MAKE OTHER SUGGESTIONS...my score was 600 cr...680 math...750 writing skills

please use the SEARCH FUNCTION

The only book I would suggest for a perfect 2400 is

brb

College Board Official Guide for the practice tests.

Rocket Review for everything else.

Some people like Grubers for math.

"Barron's How to Prepare for the SAT" ftw!

anything but mc-graw hill
its too long!

^ its great for practice tests though, i hear..

Ashraf did using Barron's help you in scoring well on the exam?

Yep! Barron's had really hard reading comprehension practice and very difficult writing skills problems. The math was...beyond words difficult. However, I scored a 2340 on the real thing, so the intellectual anguish was quite worth it. (I used other books too, but they didn't help me much, except for the BB, that is)

I disagree that studying overly difficult material is necessary. Perhaps it works for some people.

But I got an 800 on CR and a 770 on M, and guess what I used? Only the CB blue book - and I only took five practice tests as well. If I hasn't messed up my essay (a 7) I would not be retaking this October =/
