Hello everyone,
I'm an incoming sophomore and i took honors bio as a freshman.
I have been studying for this test since the beginning of the summer.
I used Kaplan, Princeton Review, and McGraw- Hill's sat 2 bio practice books.
Do these practice books cover the essential materials for the test or no?( Enough detail?)

Thank you for all of your answers, and also if you have taken the test can you please give me some advice on the difficulty of it...

P.S. Is it true that the difficulty of the sat 2 test ranges depending on the test dates?( I know this is somewhat stupid and all but I have heard of this and I am just curious)?

I took the Bio M test, and only used the Barrons Sat II book for review and tests. They said I’d get a 770-780. Then I used PR tests from my friends and bombed them, so I was really nervous. I also used the Barrons AP book to look over any little details, but that was unnecessary. If you have a AP Bio test, then take the Sat II’s right before/after them so you dont have to study twice like me. But I got a 800 anyways, use the strategy of taking both the E and M test on the actual Sat II’s because sometimes one section is extremely hard, like this year where E was impossible. Feel free to PM me with any other questions

james11223 thank you for your advice but do you think I would be prepared to take this test without completing AP bio? Is it enough to study the SAT 2 books to receive 700 and above?

Thank you=)

I dont know anyone who did that because in my school everyone takes AP Bio, but if you want to do that then I’d ask your biology teacher at school for notes that she gives out and if you’re really dedicated buy/borrow the Campbells 7th edition book to look over. But I’m pretty sure that you would be fine with a review book, as long as you at least took Honors Biology. Because AP isnt really a class where the learning curve is much greater, you just review a lot and go into slightly more details than in an Honors course…

I see well in my opinion I think I should challenge myself so I went and bought a Barron’s practice book so hopefully that will give me the optimum preparation for the test!!

Thank you for your input!=)
