i need advice....science AP needed?

Hi I've taken biology 1, chemistry 1 honors, and AP environmental science over the past three years in high school.

I definitely am a more humanties person and it shows crystal clear through my other classes.

However, seeing as how competitive admissions has been.....it seems like I need to take a 4th year of science. I know it sounds silly but I think most people on CC can agree with me that the reality of it is...you need to play this silly college game if you want to get in.

My school offers AP chem, bio, and physics. I'm pretty good at math but i don't particularly enjoy it. We have a very rigorous chem class at my school and bio is extremely tedious and a lot of time needs to be dedicated into reading the book (which doesn't sound fun for a senior...haha).

I will be a senior next year and I would much rather spend my time doing something else than sit through AP science, so i was going to take a science class at the nearby community college over the summer to get a 4th year of science in.

This is my tentative schedule for next year so far:

AP us govt
AP econ macro
AP english lit
AP spanish lit
AP french lang
AP calc ab
Mock Trial
Model UN

*and Oceanography over the summer at the nearby community college (unless you guys advise me to take a science AP!)

Do you think this isn't "rigorous" enough if i don't take an AP science??
thanks in advance.

your fishing. Stop, its annoying, You say u dont want to take a bio class bc you dont want to read the book bc it doesnt sound like fun for ur senior yr. Look at the rest of your schedule...

lol. as i stated in my original post....im really interested in the whole humanities/social sciences area....so the rest of my schedule makes perfect sense. i ENJOY those subjects....but really...no one wants to spend their senior year memorizing campbell's bio book right?

any other advice anyone?

Why are asking this? The answer is fairly obvious - you don't want to take a science AP so don't take it. From the way you put it, you probably won't do well in science since you seem to hate it, and you already have AP enviro sci. Take something you enjoy, not something to fluff up your college app.

Take another AP Science because you want to learn and think more. Not because you want to spice up your college application when you already have six AP's your senior year.

:D:D:D I had to do it

But honestly, I'd do AP Physics, just because you already have a year of Chem and Bio. [I'd personally think that] It would look better to have a year of each science (Bio, Chem, Physics, and even Enviro in your case), rather than to double up on Bio or Chem and lack Physics. It would also help you in college, I think.

Do not take any AP Science and no AP Physics because you did not take honors Physics. Also, one AP foreign language is adequate. 6 APs is not necessary.
Take some easy classes to keep up your GPA.

lol at CrzyGmer789X2. if you don't want to take another science, don't. your schedule looks fine the way it is

With AP Environmental Science, you don't need to take another science. You should enjoy your senior year and have fun!!

haha. alright. i probably won't take a science next year then because the physics teacher is ridiculous. i know 6 APs looks like college-whoring but those are all my favorite subjects. i'm into linguistics, international relations, government, business, law, humanities, social sciences..... yeah.

i was planning on taking oceanography at the nearby community college over the summer? would this be an adequate substitute for a 4th year of science?

i work as a docent at an aquarium during the summer so i'm pretty well acquainted with oceanography already and enjoy it more than other sciences...
