For the private school that I'm applying early to I accidentally checked the "no" answer to the question "Do you intend to pursue need-based financial aid?" I was thinking it was an application for my in-state school at the time and I only caught my mistake when it was too late and I had submitted my application. Unfortunately, I really do need the aid and if I got in without it I would never be able to afford to attend. The school is Princeton, which is known for offering very good institutional grants. What should I do???

Is there any particular reason why you can’t either go back to the application and change your selection or send
an email to the admissions department explaining your mistake?

The application can’t be changed after it’s submitted, so the only option is to contact the admissions office and explain the error.
