i need an IB course

im a high school junior and i go to an inner city charter school with 5 Aps classes and no IB class. is there a way that i could take an IB class online or something?

why do you need one?

@gormar099 its more of a want but i really want to have more rigorous courses for colleges to see

if you want rigor just take ap and honors classes. you won’t be penalized for not taking more since there weren’t offered. if you REALLY want to take some you can take some ap’s online or self-study tests. I don’t think you can take IB online since it’s more than just a class.

You’re already taking 5 AP courses it is completely unnecessary for you to take more. Colleges look for rigor, but once you’ve reached a certain point, they look for passion. You’d be better served participating in an EC you really like than by piling on another AP/IB class.

No. IB classes have to be taken in person, with a teacher. It doesn’t look any better to have taken a random IB class anyway and not have done the IB DP. Stick with your AP classes.

I agree with everyone above in that your schedule is rigorous enough and its better for you to do an EC instead. Though for correctness sake, IB does actually offer some of their DP courses online if you go to their website.

Except that you must be a current IB DP student in an actual IB school with an IB coordinator. They are provided through the IB school, not just open to any student who wishes to take it for rigor, like OP.

@elliebham Ah I missed that part. Thank you for the correction!
