Omg, I have acne since I was in like 6th grade. Everyday I wake up and there are either new zits, sometimes painful and huge. On top of that, when they leave they leave an ugly scar under the skin. Everyday I see the pretty actress and models with clear, perfect skin and I want to know why I can't have that. I wash my face every night and put lotion just like the magazines and articles say to. My acne makes me very self-conscious and I want so badly to have at least half clear skin. Does anyone else have bad skin like me?

I have wrinkles. Does that count? HEHEHE

Go talk to your dermatologist. Probably the best investment you can make…for your acne.

Have your parents take you to a dermatologist–there is no reason you should have to endure acne to the point of scarring.

Great minds think alike.

The models and actresses have flawless skin because they have people who are getting paid to ensure it.

You need to relax and have a calm attitude about it or else it will get worse. Start eating the right foods and I promise you’ll see change. Stay hydrated to keep your skin from getting oily. Do not eat before going to bed. Do not drink sugar or eat fried/greasy foods. Drink lemon water and green tea (will aid in getting rid of your acne scars and flush out toxins). You do need to wash your face obviously, but it won’t prevent acne, which starts on the inside. I have very clear skin and a natural glow because I do these things, because they work

Don’t waste your time or money going to a dermatologist.

about the models, their skin has been digitally enhanced so much that it’s not realistic. It goes without saying that you should wash regularly, but acne starts from the inside. I strongly recommend organic green tea, as well as seasame/olive oil to help nourish your skin and make it glow. Try massaging your face to stimulate your pores and drink lots of water.
and no great minds dont think alike

^^^ of course :)

^^I also agree with FE… but sometimes that might not work…hormones also might be the culprit. Some people take birth control pills to help balance out the hormones. Don’t forget to wash your face regulary…but don’t overwash it at the same time because your skin will dry up & become worse. Oh yeah, sometimes if you don’t keep your hair clean…and it’s greasy and you have dandruff that could be another cause for the acne.

Not all actresses have perfect skin…you just think that because: 1) they have most of their photos airbrushed/photshopped. 2) they put on crazy amounts of makeup.

good luck! :)

Most models do have near perfect skin, airbrushed or not

^A natural diet will regulate those hormones, naturally!

On acne… My acne used to be really bad too.

[Benzoyl peroxide - how to make it work for you](The Regimen® - Acne.org)

Follow this regimen. This seems to work really well for me now. Buy some high quality soap, like Dove bars. Wash your face thoroughly. Dry face. Then apply generous quantities of Benzoyl peroxide solution. This is probably key, to apply a large amount.

If this doesn’t work, you can ask a doctor about more drastic solutions, ranging from antibiotic topicals to Accutane (which is what I was on for a while)

^^Didn’t you see that commercial about that acne thing? Eating right may help your acne, but sometimes it may not. It’s biology that causes it.
(Or something along the lines of that, I haven’t watched that commercial lately.)

you could also try proactiv or other topical treatment if it isn’t too expensive

Being a huge Michelle Phan fan here, I’m going to suggest you try the aspirin mask. :)

I also heard something about apple cider vinegar. You can use a mixture of one part apple cider vinegar diluted with three parts water and use it as a toner, or you can mix in a teaspoon of acv in an eight ounce glass of water. I never really tried this, but one of my friends swears by this method.

I take fish oil supplements. They’re supposed to be good for your skin.

I have taken my son to a dermatologist for about 8 months and there was no change at all. His skin actually was more irritated by the various treatments. He gets some relief when he avoids greasy foods. Antibiotics did not work. Diet and keeping it clean/fragrance free works the most.

^4
No, but that’s BS advertising lol

Do you use a facial soap? I use one from Clinique and it works wonders… granted, my hormonal stage is dying down and I’m not getting random eruptions of acne, but the soap I use every morning and night to keep the oil off my face is really helpful to me. Like what other people said, talk to your dermatologist. They’ll know what’s best for your type of skin!

or you can just suck it up and not idolize those actresses

If you have problems with acne or buildups on your nose, definitely try Biore Pore strips. Easily found in a local supermarket or like a Walmart. Oh my God…do they ever work. Best thing I’ve ever bought from the skin care section. Had nose problems for several years, and then saw several ads for them and decided to try them out. Use them once a week, and now I have no problems at all. Self-confidence +1!

They are models/actresses BECAUSE of their perfect skin ;), but yeah it is a really important time investment…skin is like one of the main things I look for in the womenz.

Birth control pills all the way. An added bonus: When your sex appeal goes up, you’re prepared ;).

Also make sure to wash your fash in the morning and at night with a cleanser appropriate for your skin type, and exfoliate at least once a week with a scrub. I also use Retina-A, which is a topical cream.
