<p>so i had an appointment with my gc today and she was fine with most of my schools but she said these two will be a MAJOR reach for me...do you think she was right</p>

<p>I don't know anything about Carnegie Mellon, but your scores look fine for Brandeis. Are you Jewish? Personal question, I know, but Brandeis' nickname is JEW U.</p>

<p>It might depend on why you chose the schools. Are you obsessed by a specific program that is only offered at these two places, or did you just pick them because they are generally good schools?</p>

<p>generally good schools...i plan to major in biology which is pretty much offered at any school you can think of</p>

<p>They're not safeties, but they aren't tremendous reachers either. I'd say they're both slight reaches... your ECs aren't bad at all.</p>

<p>If your counselor has been at your school for years and keeps stats, she can tell you much more than any of us can. A candidate from Exeter and one from Harlem High can have the same stats and very different results. Perspective is everything.</p>
