I need clarification on the application process/Rushing

So I am going into my senior year of high school and I really want to apply to college as soon as possible but I'm still unsure of how the whole process works. Do I have to wait until school starts back up in the fall to apply so my high school councilor can send my transcript as well as my letters of recommendations from my teachers? I took the ACT and selected the schools I wanted my scores sent to so do I still have to send my scores again or is that all done with? I plan on applying to one college in-state (Oregon State) and at least one out of state (most likely Ole Miss). My GPA is 3.9 and my ACT composite score was a 25. I'd really appreciate if someone could give me a step by step timeline of what needs to be done. I also really want to rush a fraternity when I go to college. I realize most fraternities hold formal rush during the summer, what do I do if I attend a college out of state and haven't even moved in yet?

(1) File your applications as soon as you want.

(2) If your test scores have already been sent to both schools, that’s done and you don’t have to do anything else (unless you decide to take the test again).

(3) If possible, send an email to your guidance counselor now requesting that transcripts be sent to the two schools you’re applying to. If that’s not possible, then make the request when school starts.

(4) If the schools you’re applying to require recommendations (not all do), and you have not already asked your teacher(s) if they’d do this for you, make that request NOW, if possible. If not, make it as soon as school opens.

The schools you’re applying to will save your scores until the rest of your application arrives, and they don’t much care in what order the other pieces arrive. So get your applications in now, and do the best you can with the remaining pieces.

(5) Check Ole Miss’s website for the deadlines for any merit scholarships you might want to apply for.

(6) Finally, get your 2014-2015 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) filed as soon as possible after it becomes available in January.

Thank you so much,
I’ll get started right away!

Does your school use Naviance? If so, then you could select schools you are applying to and your GC would send all necessary information to those schools.
dodergsmom is correct that you don’t need to send information in any particular order.
