Hey everybody. i was wondering if any one could help me. I have considered going to undergrad in NC, GA, MD, or PA. And so far i have looked at NC State, U of MD, U of Wisconsin, U of GA, Berry College, Cornell, UPENN and PENN State. I wanted to know which schools had the better animal science and/or biology departments because i was thinking of doing a double major. Also, how are the acceptance rates to vet school at colleges that dont have a college of veterinary medicine, like Berry and Penn State?

Thank you. any information would be wonderful, no matter how small or insignificant u may think it is, it will help me.

Usually people don’t really care much about how good the undergrad is, they care more for the graduate school. I want to become a veterinarian and a lot of the veterinarians I have met said I should go to a school where I am able to get HIGH GRADES and not base it because of its undergraduate ranking. Cornell is the top for vet grad, then NC State. I read somewhere that UGA animal science graduate school is really good. But for undergraduate, you may want to consider Cornell or NCS if you want to become vet. Maybe UGA for animal science.

If you want to become a vet, its better to go to a school with a pre-vet program because they can help you a lot. I was talking to a veterinarian and he told me that some of the programs can help you take less courses in graduate schools and may prepare you more. But he said you have to be determined into going to vet grad school or else it will be a waste.

I got into UGA, UIUC, MSU, WSU, and UCD that are vet related. I’m considering between WSU and UCD because those are on the west coast. My counselor told me MSU pre-vet program is really good and I also read it somewhere its strong too, though the weather at Michigan is so cold ;_;
