The colleges I have on my list all have potential and I don’t know to choose.
Major: comp sci
Purdue-accepted
Stony brook-accepted
Dayton-accepted with 12k/yr
Binghamton-deferred
University of rochester-
Rochester institute of technology-
Syracuse-
Virginia tech-
I mean it all boils down to personal preference and what college you think provides the best fit for you. Having said that, I’m a big fan of University of Rochester. I’m also a big fan of Virginia Tech and how their campus seems to be very forward-thinking and innovative. All of your schools are pretty solid. Out of the four you named, my order would be:
University of Rochester
Binghamton
Virginia Tech
Purdue
This probably doesn’t help you much because again, it’s personal preference. Check out the websites and the specific programs. I would also look into campus organizations that interest you. Look at alumni networks and how those impact students. Begin to think long-term about your plans following college. Which school can help you down the road? You need to ask yourself tough questions before you decide. Good luck!
Try running this calculator for a more detailed evaluation of your likely costs. The Dayton scholarship does bring it down into the range of the other institutions, but you need to know the specifics about the scholarship. Is it tied to a certain GPA? Is it a fixed dollar amount, or is it a fixed percentage of the cost of attendance that will increase along with those costs each year?
OP, have you received financial aid packages everywhere? Are these numbers the full amount that you would have to pay? And can your parents afford to pay for all of those places, or would you have to borrow?
Hopefully you’re still waiting to hear about financial aid, or your parents can afford these amounts out of pocket (without loans)? Are some financial aid packages on their way?
Still, all in all, your two best choices are Binghamton (very strong academics, residential - important for OOS students-, and not too expensive) and UDayton (if you can afford a bit more than Bing, then spring for UDayton because the undergraduate experience will be so much better than your other choice at that price level - Stony Brook - in terms of relationship to professors, resources, avoiding red tape, etc.)
Try to do an overnight at both if you can.

We have filled out Fafsa, but dayton is the only university in which we have gotten a scholarship from.
This being said im still not accepted to
Binghamton

And my parents have saved money for my college fund and can afford most of these colleges, this being said, we would like lower costs.
