I am a freshman at The University of Arizona, and it turns out that it is not what I am looking for. I am from Maryland, and it is too far from home, too large, I prefer East-Coast people, and the social scene sucks if you are not in a frat. I don't even find myself wanting to like this school, and I plan on transferring second semester.

My Criteria:
- Under 10,000 - Over 2,000
- On the east coast (no higher than Mass and no lower than North Carolina)
- Cost is not really an issue
- Offers a good business school, preferably with entrepreneurship as an offering
- Does not have a greek life that doesn't destroys everyone who doesn't belong's social life
- Preferably not a major city school (NYU, Drexel or Fordham)
- Able to cater to a student, who got around 550 math - 550 Reading on SAT

So far, I am interested in Quinnipiac in CT. I applied there, and was wait listed, but never got an answer, as I said I was going to Arizona before they could tell me. My mother told me to look at Elon, but I am not sure as from what I heard about the Greek Life there.

What other schools should I look at?

What are your stats? If you were WL by Quinn, then does that mean that your stats were lowish?

If so, then that might affect where you can transfer to.

Why did you pick Arizona to begin with?

You might try some of the Catholics …many don’t have Greek life.

Look at Loyola Maryland or Stone Hill or Fairfield or Seton Hall, etc.

So, your parents are willing to pay full freight for wherever you go? If so, you’ll find a place. :)

I chose Arizona, essentially because of a gut feeling. I attended an all-boy’s prep school since 1st grade, with 70 people per grade, and I assumed that large classes, and being so far away from home would be easy. In the end, it was easier said than done. My high school GPA was a 3.0, but take into consideration that this was a very competitive private school, and I was taking 2 International Baccalaureate Classes during both my junior and senior year. Though i am not finished my semester here at UA, I can’t see myself getting below a 3.2.

As far as getting WL’d at Quinnipiac, I believe they just had a large applicant pool. I got into Syracuse (which is said to be more competitive), Stetson (with a $20,000 scholarship), Rollins, and Drexel.
