I need help finding which schools to apply to!

Hi! I'm a rising senior and very excited about applying to colleges, but I'm a bit overwhelmed and I need some help finding safeties, matches, etc. My stats:

GPA: Weighted - 4.75; Unweighted - 4.00
Rank: 3/170
SAT: 2060; R+M: 1380
ACT: 33

Transcript: not nearly as rigorous as it could have been! I thought we were required to take "career cluster" classes so it has a bunch of useless business courses. My school is also on a semester schedule and AP courses are only offered on the spring semester so that limited me significantly. I do have a few honors classes, though.

APs: Calc AB (5), Government & Politics (5). Considering self-studying Bio this year.

Senior Year Schedule: I'm entering into a dual-enrollment program at a local private university. First semester:
AP English (not sure if it's Lang or Lit)
Calculus II (might try taking the Calc BC exam)
Elementary Statistics (might look into taking the AP Stats exam)
French I

ECs: President of Math Club, Treasurer of Key Club, member of Beta Club, member of NHS (might run for office this year). Did this thing called HOBY. 100-130 volunteer hours. No sports.

Prospective Hooks: First Generation, attended North Carolina Governor's School 2013 (Math)

General Info:
Male
Southeast Asian
North Carolina

Finances: not really sure... I think if the final price is over, say, $15,000/year there might be a problem. But really we can make most things work. Scholarships/grants would be nice, though!

Prospective Major: NO IDEA. I was hoping to figure this out during my first two years of college. Before, I thought I wanted to go into accounting and eventually become filthy rich but then Governor's School changed me. Now I just want to find something I love. Very, very slight interests in architecture, public administration, and agriculture.

Anyway, here are the colleges I've been looking at:

Appalachian State University
Elon University - got a small scholarship from these guys
NC State University
UNC Chapel Hill (reach)

Any other suggestions? Ideas? Advice? Thanks!

You have a great instate option, UNC and I think you have a good shot - high match/low reach. Do everything to make your app to UNC shine!

It’s time to run NPCs so you need to have the finance chat with your parents. You need to know income to get EFC and then they have to tell you if they have any problems paying EFC. Money matters when making your list.

Your stats are great so you will find many safety options here:
