I need help in ACT. Please help me..

I am a sophomore and I am going to take ACT in December.
I took ACT real practice test [1MC] and I got 25 english,
31 math, 22 reading, 24 science. My Weakest part is reading.
The strategy I used in this test was read question and find the answer. (I hardly finished the test.)

Just an hour ago, I took another practice test[2MC] and I did horrible :-(
I got 21 english, 19 reading. I didn't do math and science yet.
In english section, the answer I thought right for sure was all wrong.
and in reading section, I tried different strategy. Read the passages first, and do the questions. At the prose fiction, I finished reading in 5 mins but when I was answering the question, I couldn't think of the answers and I have to go look up the passage and I spent 5 extra minutes. Finally, I couldn't finish whole passage of Humanities section.
I am extremely disappointed at myself.. and I am not sure what to do for reading. I guess I will just keep work on grammar in English, but I don't know about Reading.
I seriously need help in reading. Btw, I am from other country and I came to America last year. I want to know if there is any special strategy for English as a Second language student.

Thanks,

I saw your other post about the SAT...I think it's a good idea in general to try to start studying for ACT/SAT as a sophomore, but you're still working on your English and you're going to stress yourself out with these tests. You don't need to take an official test to see how you'll do. You can get a good idea with practice tests.

I wouldn't attempt both SAT and ACT right now. Give yourself more time to adapt in general and master the fundamentals that will help you do well on both exams, and worry about those tests starting next summer.

For the reading part, I can tell you my score jumped 11 points simply by reading lots of novels for fun! Reading in your free time really might help - it sure did for me. The good thing is you are a sophomore and can keep taking the test - half of the test is just mastering the format, getting used to the time restrictions, and the endurance the test takes. Good luck!
