i need help narrowing list down

The schools i am considering are:

Stanford
Cornell
Case Western
Brown
Brandeis
UChicago
WUSTL
Tufts
Yale
JHU
Duke
MIT
Northwestern
Princeton

My question is: are there any of these that seem out of place/not similar to the others and what are the major differences?? (I am interestet in the sciences)

BTW, i am aware of my chances at all of these, and i am asking for differences with the schools themselves, not the selectivity.

Brandeis seems a little out of place to me, but that may just be that i didn't like it. Also, are these all of your schools oncluding your safety?

Where are your safeties?

Brandeis is the one that strikes me as being the most out-of-place, but at the same time, I don't know why that would be a bad thing.

Brandeis doesn't seem out of line with the list to me - great school, good for science, good admissions value. Same with Case Western. I'm assuming you are considering Brandeis and Case to be safeties. That worries me a bit, as while both are excellent schools, neither is a safe bet.

Cornell seems most out of place as all the rest are in, or striking distance to, major cities. Ithaca doesn't qualify.

UChi seems out of place to me. It's has a much more academic feel than the rest.

Not really sure what you are asking. They are all obviously great schools (Brandeis is certainly not out of place, especially in the sciences) but will have their own personality which you will need to define for yourself. I understand you recognize the selectivity of the group but unless you have 800 board, top of the class ranking and great EC's there is no safety in the bunch. Remember Andison.

What are your academic and career interests?
