I have been researching universities recently because I am sophomore this year and realize that the entire process of taking the real SAT/ACT, applying, and receiving acceptance letters is fast approaching. I am an army brat, so as of now I really have no clue where I want to go or what area of the country I want to focus on applying to colleges. My dad is currently stationed in Germany and I am attending a government American school here. The problem is, if my dad does not get orders to move and I graduate here I am not sure where my instate tuition would be. Do I qualify for instate tuition in whichever state I choose to attend college, since I technically don't have a state?

It would be his state of residence on his LES.

When I was in hs I lived overseas too. Usually, your state of residence is the state that your parent’s company/military base is located in. In my case it was Texas. I could be wrong, but that’s how it was 30 years ago.

Each state, and sometimes each public college and university within a state, sets its own policy about this. Some are more flexible about military dependents than others are. Stop by your guidance counselors office, and ask about this. They should be familiar with the issues involved.
