I need help with calculating my gpa!

Hi everyone!

So I’m having a difficult time calculating my weighted gpa due to the fact that I took 8 units at a community college (A in pyschcology 4.0 units and A in pyschcology 4.00 units)

I know these classes count as AP courses but I’m not sure how the units transfer in combination with my high school gpa which weighted without the community college courses is a 3.89 I believe.

I need to know my gpa haha!

I think your guidance counselor could help you. This calculation may vary from school to school.

@LittleCatSwagg…I would suggest ordering an official copy of your high school transcript. I would recommend this for all college applicants.

I talked to my guidance consular and they said they aren’t sure how UC’s transfer the credits.

Your question was about how to calculate your GPA. Your GC should know that.

There may be some confusion about your college vs high school GPA.

As others have posted, your high school gpa is whatever your tanscript says it is. Your GC can explain their GPA policy.

For your college GPA, schools dont include your tfer credits in their GPA calculation. You have a seperate GPA for each college you attend, including the community college.

I’m applying to primarily UC schools and from what I have been told, they do some combination of High School and College GPA

UC’s consider CCC courses as Honors courses if enrolled while in HS and they fufill the a-g course requirements.

Use this calculator: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

My main question regarding the CC class is how many units are they worth. Is one quarter worth a year or a semester. I get 5 units in high school and the community college is 4.0 units. How do weigh them?

GPA is based on grades not the # of units for the UC’s. If you want to know how the units transfer, check assist.org and plug in your CC school and any UC as the transfer destination. If you got 2 A’s at the CC, then you add them to your HS grades plus you get 2 Honors points.
