I need help with PSAT studying!

Hello CC. I am junior and I shall take the PSAT this October. I took it last year and I got a 186 (aka horrible for CC), with a 64 in CR, 54 in Math, and 68 in Writing. I took it without studying or knowing about it.

So, with the PSAT a bit of a month away, I need to get studying to get better and ultimately prepare for the SAT. There's three questions I have:

I have 3 PSAT tests and 3 SATs that I can take to practise without buying the Blue Book. How many of these should I take prior to the PSAT and still have enough for SAT practising?

As you can see, I suck at Math. I've never been a Math person. Obviously, can get much better with practice. Is there a really really good SAT Math-only book I can buy and practise/learn from?

Lastly, vocab. I mostly do really good with vocab, but I can always get better. I might study some vocab lists, but I usually do better if I just learn roots. Once again, is there any book/resource that lists roots and their meanings?

While I am not trying to get an specific score, I hope I can improve and make all my scores over 70 (with Math hopefully at least mid 60s). Thanks a lot :D

You should buy the Blue Book, and I don’t think anyone is going to be able to give you an exact number of tests you should take. Just keep taking tests and thoroughly going over them to make sure you understand why each correct answer is correct.

I think the Gruber’s math refresher is supposed to be good? Don’t take my word on that.

Get both volumes of Direct Hits.

Thanks. I shall check the books out.

There should be a new PSAT and SAT Practice Test in your College Counseling Office that you can use for practice before the PSAT. They are both actual tests and you can get the answer explanations from the College Board website.
