I need help?

Hi, I'm new here to the website so I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. I'm actually using my phone to do this so I apologize if there are any typos.

Last year I decided to take a year off from school. The thing is I didn't talk to anyone at my college and I just didn't register for classes in the fall. Before that I has been a part-time student for a full year.

Let me explain. I was at UCONN for two years and I got engaged and married to my husband who is serving in the Air Force so I ended up moving to Colorado Springs, where he is stationed, and transferred to UCCS.
But because of the stress of me not knowing anyone, all my family and friends being away from me, the military life culture shock, and my husband getting deployed, I got extremely stressed and depressed so my grades began to slip and I was put on academic probation. Before my GPA was a 3.4. So this made me extremely depressed and I decided to take a year off.

I want to go back this fall. I'm majoring in Psychology by the way. But I have no idea how to go about it? I'm so afraid that they will tell me I can't go back. What should I do? Any advice?

If I understand correctly, you enrolled at UCCS, had a bad semester, were put on academic probation, and then didn’t re-enroll for the following term. Did I get that right?

If you are still close enough to UCCS to continue your education there, make an appointment with your advisor (if you had one) or the undergraduate advisor for your major (if you had one) or the undergraduate admissions office (if you didn’t have an advisor or a major yet). Sit down with that person and with all of your records, and find out what you need to do to enroll for this fall. You won’t know how simple or difficult the process is going to be until you speak with the people there. It is most likely that you will be able to go back, but that you will be considered to still be on academic probation for a semester or two until you pull your grades back up.

If you have moved and UCCS is not the place you need/want to be attending, then you need to get copies of both sets of transcripts (UConn and UCCS) and pay a visit to the admission office of the college or university that you do hope to attend.

Your situation is a challenging one, but many people face it. An additional resource for you to try would be the Veterans’ advisor or coordinator at the college/university you want to attend. That person should have good ideas for you.

Wishing you all the best!
