I need help.

I am a Biology major at a community college that wants to transfer to UCLA, and then to dental school. My counselor at my CC college is telling me I need organic chemistry, a lot of physics courses, and much more. She is essentially telling me that I have to take all my pre reqs at my CC. What will dental schools think about this?

Your counselor is right. Check Assist for transfer requirements from CCC to UCLA.

As for dental schools, check with them specifically. Some would feel you’re more competitive by taking science prereqs at the University level. But you have a low nil chance of transfer from a CCC to a UC for Bio if you don’t have the prereqs completed.

This is tough because I need pre reqs to go to the university I want, but at the same time the pre reqs will come back to bite me when I apply for dental schools. What would you suggest I do?

I believe some pre-dent and pre-med students re-take prereqs at the university level.

I suggest you check with the dental schools you are interested in and also ask in the Pre-dent forum.

Okay, thank you very much. Where can I find this Pre-dent forum at?
