To be honest I am only in the 6th grade, I may get banned from this site but really that is of no matter to me.
Anyways, here is my question. If I get bad grades in one quarter of middle school in my math class but get all A’s and B’s in other classes and I’m positive I can fix my bad grades (They were only because I had not turned any homework) will the bad grades hurt my chances of going to college even if I do fix them? Sorry, I am paranoid because I really want to go to a college I have been itching to ask this question so please anyone out there with the knowledge to help me please reply to this thread, Thanks.
Nope, colleges won’t see them. BUT – it is important to nail down the basics of middle school math. So the grade itself doesn’t matter – but math is a subject that builds on past classes as you go forward. So if you really don’t feel confident in some of your math skills, consider spending some extra time going back and making sure you understand it. Something like Kahn Acadeny (online) might help. Do it over winter break, and maybe next summer if you need to.
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.
Middle school grades don’t matter unless you are trying to enter advanced courses in your freshman year of high school, but don’t stress about it!
Also try finding some tutoring programs at your school for math! I know that at the middle schools in my area, we have a tutoring program for high schools to help middle schoolers improve their grades. Never be afraid to ask your math teacher for help or raise your hand. I know that some teachers can be really difficult, but if you show initiative and interest, then they might be more lenient with grading.
Middle school is honestly a time for students to practice good work ethics and solidified the fundamentals of certain subjects above all, so don’t worry too much-- However, don’t let your grades slip too much or else your parents will be really mad.
LOLOL
If you are taking advanced math classes (classes taught at the high school level) it’s possible they will be reported on your high school transcript. Also, quarter grades may or not appear on your transcript. My children received mid-term grades (quarter grades) but only the final full semester grade appeared on the transcript.
Turn in your homework! Now is the time to work on your organizational skills.
