I am studying harder than ever, but my grades are slacking. And at the same time, I am worried about my health.

I have 5 APs and my grades are

AP Calc = 88%
AP Bio = 88%
AP Enviro = 83%

All my other classes are A's. I know those are not low grades at all, but with the amount of studying I have done past couple weeks, I feel they should all be A's. Maybe I don't know how to study effectively. Can anyone tell me their effective study method? One that takes not so much time and actually works.

AP Enviro is the one giving me the most trouble. The teacher doesn't teach and gives us extremely hard tests on information that does not even come out on our textbooks. How should I study for this class? Are there any good online Enviro notes?

I have spent 3 all nighters this week (with crazy amount of caffeine) and 2 days with only 2 hours of sleep. I completely knocked yesterday and slept 18 hours and woke up just couple hours ago. I feel I am getting weaker and I am tired everyday which is affecting my social life as well (Ex. I didn't go to a party yesterday b/c I was so tired.) What should I do? I can't study any harder than I am doing now and at the same time, I want to maintain my social status. Can anyone give me a good advice on how I should manage my time while taking care of my health?

Sorry for such a long post, but I am so frustrated :(

I would recommend dropping AP environment if it's giving you that much trouble. It's often looked at as a "easy AP" anyway. I would try talking to your guidance counselor about the option... or taking environment pass/fail and then not worrying about the grade. B+s are great grades for Calc and Bio.

I don't know what else to say. I have some trouble with having to study a lot as well (my grades are dropping too!) but I'm going to just try toughing it out. However, it seems like if you have to spend that much time studying for envsci, you'd be able to study more for bio and calc, which would help you. 4 APs is challenging anyway.

It's too late to drop it now. And what's pass/fail? I don't think you can do that in my school. And Our school doesn't do B+/A- things. It's either an A or B.

Calc - I know the material (I am math guy), just bombed the test last week. I will def bring it up. There are two AP calc teachers, one that teaches well, and one that sucks. And I got the bad one. :(

Bio - OMG so much hw + studying. My teacher can't teach at all and she tests on all the little details from the Campbell book.

wow.. I just noticed the classes I am doing bad are taught by some of the worst teachers in my school. :(

But thanks classof09. Too bad I can't drop apes.

Your grades are normal for the courses. And contrary to popular belief, AP Environmental is quite difficult. You have a challenging schedule and are pulling B's, and I don't see anything wrong with that.

Get some sleep. You'll function better on more sleep. Your thoughts will become clearer, and you'll actually be able to study and understand the material.

Hard work can only get you so far and its nothing compared to natural capabilities. If you're pulling a "C" when you get to college and you go up to a professor and say "but I'm working sooo hard" they's probably lugh in your face and give you the number to the learning center.
