I am facing reality that my score was only a 1680. I am the best and brightest out of my school. My whole life I have been the smartest out of my class and peers. I now face reality that I am not very smart. On the other hand I did not study for the SAT.

Basically, I want a shot at the Ivies, and I am going to study hard starting right now to improve my SAT scores massively. Is it possible to improve my about 500 points?

On one hand, not studying for the SAT probably wasn’t your brightest move. On the other hand, I can tell you from personal experience the world of difference that studying can make. A 500 point difference? Only time and practice can tell. I would suggest you get cranking and look to your practice test scores as predictors of how you will do on the real thing. If you are seeing a massive improvement in those scores, then you will likely see one on the real test. Best of luck! (I sense a little Princeton pride in your UserID…Perhaps I’ll see you when I come back for reunions =P)

Yes, you are correct. My EC’s and GPA are looking pretty good, that’s why I need to improve my score.

Yep, get to work studying. 500 points is a big increase, but I wouldn’t say it’s impossible. Difficult, but not impossible. Let us know if you need specific help.

My scores around about even with each other, I am just going to try taking apart practice tests with the help of Gruber’s.

i think that if you are as smart as you say then you should stop talking and start doing… just start studying your *** off and the work will pay off
