Ok, I don’t mean this in a bad way but you asked, and you say 95% said option 3. I thought it was 100%, but either way - now you’re asking for us to verify that we chose option 3?

We can’t decide what’s a big deal for you. If going to CC for another year, and finishing in 3 years instead of 2 may be a big deal for you, but only you can decide that. You can’t make your decision based on majority rules. We are not the ones who have to live with the decision, you are. Everyone who is posted, has given you their thoughts and opinions, so it’s time for you to think about what people have said, and make decisions based on what you think will be best for your life.

Neither of your options are the perfect choice. You can go to a school that you don’t want to go to and finish more quickly, or you can take more time, and then go to school that you really want to go to.

You’re in this situation because you made the decision, for whatever reason, to drop a required course. That decision leads you to have to make another decision that doesn’t make you feel great either way. You don’t want to compile bad decisions on top of bad decisions. So think about what will be best for you long term. Only you can decide that.

Well said @2016Candles.

Thanks guys I appreciate everyone’s input.

I have decided to go with Option #3.

I’m going to stay another year at my CC and take Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 along with 2 science courses that I needed in order to finish IGETC.

I just feel like I’ve wasted 2 years for nothing though haha, but that’s life!

How common is it for a person to take 5-6 years to receive a bachelor’s degree though?

I’m going to be 23 years old by the time I graduate with a bachelor’s degree and I feel like that’s late!

Most ppl graduate at 22-23.

I think you’re making the right choice. 1 year is nothing compared to a lifetime of wondering what if. As far as age, I can empathize with you because I’m already 23 and am just now transferring, and sometimes feel like I’m behind everyone else. Especially when I hear about friends who already graduated or are getting married and having kids. But when you think about, being a couple years behind is really nothing in the scheme of things. I would rather go at my own pace then worry about keeping up with everyone else.I think you will be happy you waited so you could get into the school you really wanted to go to.

You aren’t really “behind” at all. You’re on a completely different path than those you’re measuring your success by. I will be 28 when I transfer. I’ve done a lot of things and had a lot of experiences no one I know who went straight to college from high school had. I think going to Uni as an actual adult gives me a very different outlook on things. I really think I will get more out of it than I would have at 18 or even 20. We’re all on different journeys. Its not a race to the finish line. If it were that would be the most depressing ending ever, rush rush rush, hey look I’m winning, oooops I’m dead. First place! lol. If you truly feel you’ve wasted the last two years you didn’t do it right. Make this next year the year you make count for something. A year you can look back at and be proud of, and I don’t just mean the school part.
