I need life-changing advice from many!!

I have a problem... actually, quite a large one. ED deadline is fastly approaching, and not including the pressure from the three essays required for Vanderbilt that I've yet to get into, I have a large problem. I had decided to apply Vanderbilt ED I (Which I'm positive about), however, if I don't get in Vandy I wanted to do an EDII. Now originally this was going to be JHU... I want a school with a good med program, with some prestige, that is hard to get into. The point in me applying ED is so it will increase my chances to get into top schools that I might not quite make the cut otherwise (RD) but I can still actually get in ED. However, I just found out that JHU does not have EDII.. only EDI. This was obviously a very wrong assumption on my part, and I now have a problem. I've always been the type of person who needs a plan and I really need to decide the best school to apply EDII to. Can anyone offer any advice? Here are my stats so someone doesn't suggest Yale or something like that. Thanks so much in advance! CC'ers never seem to let me down.

(I will do everything in my power to make all A's Sr. yr. -- if I do, I will be Salutatorian)
(Also note: Junior yr lowest grade is 97 [only made that low once].. not sure if that counts for something)
-This gives me a total of 10 Honors or above honors courses.

-Will have a total of 5 sciences and 4 maths by end of next yr.

-Varsity Swimming three yrs... a school record was won.

-Job over summer and Sr yr

-TN Governor's School 2006 (I completed two college level courses. History of Tennessee (HIST 2030) and Historical Geology (GEOL 1050) and recieved an A in both.)
-TN Volunteer Girls State Delegate (won and elected a Senator's position [only 20 awarded out of 500+ girls])
-Clubs by end of next yr will include: Mu Alpha Theta, National Honors Society, Student Council, Historical Society, Thesbian, Spanish, Science, Interact, Beta, Beta Epsilon (Thinking about dropping a couple)

-ACT score: First time = 27, Second time = 27 too! Everything went up several points but science, which for some reason plumated. Hopefully a 30 in Oct. I'mma get a ACT tutor and study like no other.

-In addition, I got the lead role in a theatre preformance in Drama, and am hoping to be equally as lucky in the upcoming Musical this year.

-Volunteer at a Nursing Home, but not the typical 100+ hours yet... I'm working on it. So little time anymore.

-I'm good at essays, so counting on essay to be good. (If I could ever get started)
-Student of Month twice, Soph & Junior academic award, etc.
-Major: I want to go pre-med, w/ a major of Chemistry and a minor in Psychology.

Note: I know my AP's are low, but our school only offers 5 and others conflicted with my schedule. Also, there is no 3rd foreign lang. offered at my school... not enough people sign up for them.

Some colleges I was looking into:
Boston U
Tufts
Case Western
Northeastern
Rhodes
Tulane
Wake Forest
U Chicago
Macalester
etc. Again, I'm completely lost and most definatly not confined to this list. Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well for southern schools I'd recommend Davidson (in NC), for northern I'd recommend Colgate (NY) and Bowdoin (ME.. not 100% sure of EDII though.. I can check)

However, It looks like you might want a bigger school, these are LACs

I would personally recommend Tufts were you to do ED II. I think it's somewhat similar to Vanderbilt. It has practically the same freshman profile, though it is about 1400 students less, but other than I think it seems like a place you could possibly thrive in.

for the act, you can mix and match im pretty sure, what are your splits for both? if you owned science first time around and it dropped second time, your best score is still high.

I'm suprised you are taking pre-cac senior year. NO offense but lots of colleges would want caculus senior year, to know t hat you are "ahead" and "ambitious.."
but you look like your other stuff is realllllly good
i mean it :P

i didn't think you could mix and match on the ACT...

Yeah, the precalc thing is a bumber. I was actually sheduled to be in a higher math, but my mom likes to move a lot...on avg once a yr. Almost always do I have to switch schools. Well anyway, we moved from 8th to 9th to a school in a different city and they lost my transcript so I had to retake AlgI although I had already taken it. In the middle of 9th we moved again back to our previous city and I couldn't move up to Alg II, where I should have been, b/c it was already halfway through the yr. In the end, I'm stuck in PreCalc and had two very boring yrs of AlgI (including the first time).

ACT 1st= 29E 23M 29R 26S ACT 2nd= 31E 26M 29R 22S. Ironically, on the four practice tests, the lowest science was a 30.

Tufts is a great suggestion.... any others? It would be really, really appreciated. And thanks for all of the replys!

Bump... any others? I have also recently started looking at Washington and Lee as well.
