Senior
I am thinking of majoring in Business and/or International Relations, or Business with an international focus. I want to minor in Chinese.

My List of Schools (in order of preference all in California)
1. Stanford
2. USC
3. Santa Clara
4. UC Berkeley
5. SJSU (only as a safety)

I know my college list is fairly short, what universities in California are good in Business and/or International Relations?

I retook the SAT but I'm not sure how I did. I will be taking a SAT Subject Test in US History, I will probably get at least 750. ( I got a 5 on the APUSH test)

GPA and academic rigor
Unweighted 3.8
Weighted 4.2

My school doesn't offer that many AP classes until JUNIOR year and I took 5 out of the 7 that we offer.

Why not other UC’s? Davis has great Chinese and international business. Santa Cruz has pretty good Chinese and international relations. Occidental has a very international focus.

And Stanford doesn’t offer business as a major. They have a business school - but as an undergrad, you are not allowed to take (or even audit) classes there. They do have economics.

I’m assuming you’re a CA resident? You might want to look at some of the other UCs - Santa Cruz, Davis, Santa Barbara, and Irvine would be good bets. Some of the CSUs also have good IR and Business programs, and would be more within your range. Santa Clara is probably still a good choice, but USC and Stanford would be huge reaches with your current scores. If you’re interested in private colleges, Occidental, Chapman, Pitzer, and Claremont McKenna would be good ones to look at. Remember to factor financial need into the equation as well.
