I need more matches! Please? :)

<p>Hello, thanks for reading this! :)</p>

<p>I am a rising senior and want to add one more 'match' to my list of schools I am applying to.</p>

<p>Long story short, 4.15 W/ 3.79UW 2070 SAT (Will probably be closer to 2150 come application time).</p>

<p>My current list is:
UCLA - Match
USC - High Match
UCB - Reach
Stanford - High Reach
UCSD - Safety/Low Match
UCD - Safety</p>

<p>I have too many reaches, and not enough matches.</p>

<p>A school on the West Coast is preferable.
If any more information is needed, just let me know.</p>

<p>Have you considered pomona college? It seems to be a perfect match for you + its in the CA area </p>

<p>Agree to add Pomona. Also look at Claremont McK, Occidental, Whitman. I am assuming you are instate CA? I am mostly going by acceptance rates and not necessarily your stats alone, but would change a couple:</p>

<p>UCLA - Match
USC - Reach
UCB - High Reach
Stanford - High Reach
UCSD - match
UCD - Safety</p>

<p>Pomona is not a match, particularly for a CA student. It’s another reach. </p>

<p>You might want to look at some of the schools in OR and WA: Lewis and Clark, UW, Evergreen, et al.</p>

<p>… and if she’s a CA student, OP is absolutely not a lock to gain admission to UCLA with these stats. People from different regions of the country like yourself being from DC don’t understand admissions to UC, particularly UCLA and Berk. UCLA rejected 30+ students with 2100 or > scores with an average uw gpa of ~ 3.70, w >> 4.2 from one hs.</p>

<p>A lot of it will be dependent on what tier of hs she attends. With these stats from an underperfroming hs, I would say she has a good chance to gain admission to both UCLA and Cal; if she attends an API rank 10 school, I would say both would be reaches for her.</p>

<p>If she’s from oos from a ‘good’ hs, I would say she has a shot for both.</p>

<p>Your stats match theirs and they often give preference to CA students apparently. If anything else
It would be a high match for you in my opinion ,</p>

<p>I do agree that UCB would be a reach compared to UCLA. It is the toughest and most prestigious state school to get into in CA!

Pomona’s decisions start on page 35.</p>

<p>As far as comparing between the two UC’s you mentioned: </p>

<p>Diff. in stats of matriculated students of each is pretty minimal with a lot of the difference being becaues UCLA takes more at-risk students than Berk – see pages 64 and 49 per the link for the linked hs, which don’t include a lot of holistics decisions – those with lower stats. In other words, I don’t agree with UCLA being a match and Berk being a high reach.</p>
