I'm applying to Vanderbilt (ED), Michigan, Emory, Dartmouth, Northwestern, University of Miami, Brandeis, Wisconsin, and Florida.

My stats are:

GPA: 3.5/4.0 (school doesn't rank)
ACT: 34
Pretty good ECs and good essays.

Should I apply to anymore schools? I feel like I need more target/safety schools because there is a really fine line in the ones I chose.

Thanks, any feedback is appreciated.

This is an unusual mix of schools. I’m not sure I see the common denominators. Could you articulate your criteria for selecting schools for us? It would help us make better suggestions.

(Size, location, major, culture, etc…)

I like big/medium size schools, and I definitely want to have a Greek Life. I prefer an urban location at a school with diversity.

What are you planning to do you major in?

And if you prefer an urban location then I guess you could go for, NYU, Carnegie Mellon, UCSD

And you should probably apply to 10-15 colleges, just to be safe. And your stats are good enough to get you into at least one of the colleges that you’ve mentioned

If you want to apply to a safety school with high acceptance rates the you can look into:
University of Portland
Belmont University
Butler University
The University of Tennessee

random—

I think you’ve got a pretty good selection of schools, except it’s not clear if there are any financial safeties on that list.

Are you in-state for any of the public schools? The cost of attendance at an OOS public is sometimes as much as $40K or $50K, but there is usually little or no institutional grant aid given to OOS students.

Have you talked to your parents about how much they are willing to pay each year for your education? Have you and they run through a financial aid estimator to get a ball park figure for your FAFSA EFC? Can your parents afford your EFC? The answers to these questions are important for figuring out whether you are likely to be able to afford to attend a school once you get admitted to it.

I won’t need any FA.
Any more possible safeties?
thanks

U of Southern California sounds like it could be a fit for you but it probably wouldn’t be a match/safety.

What is your intended major? That would help quite a bit with suggestions.

How about Boston College, Boston University? They are all mid to large sized schools in urban areas. You could apply to George Washington, American U, and Fordham as safeties.
