I need motivation

This is my junior year and i'm slacking off a little. My dream university is columbia and i need motivation:((

Can anybody tell me something positive about columbia so i would want it more and work even harder?:((

Slacking off? Motivation? How about the opposite:

Columbia is the 4th toughest school to get into(based on admissions %) AND it is consistantly rated as the #1 stressfull school because of the workload the students have to navigate.

If you honestly want to get into Columbia, prepare to work even harder . . .

This isn’t motivation but it might be an anecdote for your stress. Opt out of applying to Columbia. Your peers are dripping in motivation. Like Down says, you’re going the opposite direction the very moment your peers are doing stellar work.

I mean
I guess you have a point. The work load will be hard and i am aware of that. Columbia U has been my dream school ever since i was little ,& im going to sacrafice anything for it. Im going to study hard for a good gpa, a good sat& act score,& plus a decentt of extracurricular activities.

Oh come on. I think everyone’s just being a little hard on OP. Everybody runs out of juice for a few days. No one, and I say this with full confidence, no one is PERPETUALLY motivated.
@OP- Yeah. You’re going to have to work hard- both now and when you get to college- more if you get to Columbia. But the most important part is to enjoy your senior year despite the work load. Don’t worry too much about getting in. What you gain out of what you’re doing now is going to mean a lot more than college acceptances. Having a dream school is great, but when your dream has single digit acceptances, you have to remember to breathe in, enjoy the situation you’re in, and keep working hard. :)

OP is a junior lol.

I don’t see what difference that makes but sure.
*enjoy your JUNIOR AND senior years.

Seriously, first few replies were a bunch of ***holes. Hollogloria just remember, Columbia is effing New York City. It’s the best school in the greatest city in the largest superpower the world has ever known. It’s a whole new level but it means you’ve gotta WORK to get there. But it is soooo worth it. Everyone needs psychological motivation sometimes, I remember before I got accepted I’d pump myself up by watching 30 Rock and thinking of NYC and all the opportunities and incredible experiences Columbia would bring. Just get it done, do killer work, and above all keep those grades up! That’s the #1 priority!

You could come to Cornell…

Honestly
Cornell is my 2nd school
I would be really happy if i get accepted to columbia
