I need response fast! I am about to apply to uc schools but don't know which

Well I'm at the site where you check the boxes to apply. I clicked on Merced, Riverside and Santa Cruz.

Right now I hav ea 1760 on my SAT.
Planning to apply 20-30 community service hours.
My gpa is very poor, around 2.5-2.8
I had 79% in a lot of my classes each year.
Also taking 3 Sat II tests in Oct 9. Hoping to get 650 in math 600+ in Bio and 600+ in Lit.
Now as A senior I have a 4 a's and 1 b. I'm in the CP (College Prep) classes I don't have any ap or in my school's IB programs neither. I go to a expensive private school with high tuition. << Does this have any advantage?
This senior year I'm doing a tutoring kids program, and apart of two club cabinet postions.
I also had a year of ASB my junior year. I am the Representative for my school weekly advisory.
Yea not that many extra curriculars.

I was wondering if theres like a random/lucky chance I can get into Irvine, SB, and possibly SD.

The other schools I am planning to go to are
SFSU
UCF
CSU Northridge, Long Beach, Fresno, etc

Unless you have a UC GPA of 3.0 or better I do not believe you meet the minimum requirements to apply to a UC. As for CSUs, Long Beach is very unlikely and SFSU is also a reach unless you are applying from its service area. Northridge and Fresno are possibles. Your best bet is to apply to the CSU that you are in the service area of.

UC apps aren’t even open yet,…are they? CSU’s opened today.

“I go to a expensive private school with high tuition. << Does this have any advantage?
Anyway, I like this site for some basic into, starting with calculating your UC GPA”

Not usually, unless a 3.0 there, is like a much higher GPA elsewhere. Could be a disadvantage, since some schools evaluate you in the context of you environment.

but ive seen people get in with 2.5 and stuff to davis and river side… and yes apps out today

Oh I see. You can start today, but can’t submit until Nov 1st.

Those folks you know at Davis are super outliers! Their avg GPA last year was 4.0, and the site says less than one percent with less than 3.0 get in. l guess you should go for it if you can. A few years ago the online app. wouldn’t even accept an app. that didn’t meet criteria.

http://statfinder.ucop.edu/statfinder/default.aspx

im actually surprised any uc, even merced, accepts anyone below 3.0 gpa

UC San Diego: High Reach
UC Riverside: High Reach
UC Santa Cruz: High Reach
UC Merced: Reach

In my honest opinion, if you can improve your SAT score to above 2000+ and all SATIIs to above 650+, you will vastly improve your chances at all the schools on your list. To answer your question about your private school, because you are an in-state resident, i do not believe your family income will be a deciding factor in your application. Assuming you do not apply for financial aid, you will pay the set in-state tuition if you are accepted.

Best of luck!

Chance me back? : )
