I am currently a senior in high school. We have Thanksgiving break next week so this past week has been so incredibly full of tests, papers, projects, and assignments. I have been up so late every night that I could literally fall asleep on the floor in 1 minute. Today I had a couple of anxiety attacks (sweating, heart racing, shaking) because I am so stressed out. I have an AP US History test tomorrow that I am not at all prepared for. If we miss the test, we make it up at the end of the quarter. I am a very good student and I am working so hard in all of my classes which are very challenging but I just can't do it all. I feel like I am on the verge of a breakdown. I am considering missing the test tomorrow but it is not out of apathy or laziness. I am able to make it up at the end of the quarter. Please give me some advice on what you think I should do. Please be nice as well. Thank you so much.

Miss the test!

Your health is a priority. You’re normally a good student, you deserve a break so your brain can have itself a breather. That much stress isn’t good for anyone - and if its just because this week is particularly hectic, then I’m sure it won’t be too much of a problem if you don’t take the exam tomorrow and stay home or whatnot.

Drink lots of fluid and nap a bit!

Good luck. :)

Delay that test! Take care of your health before all else and then since you have a good work ethic, everything else will fall into place. It’s good preparation for college–sometimes you’ll simply not be able to complete everything assigned and you’ll have to learn how to prioritize and be selective in your focus. Have a hot cup of tea, drink plenty of fluids, and get a good night’s rest.
