I Need Some Advice...Please :)

Ok, so I've heard the typical "OMG I got an A-" many times on CC, and while I agree most people are way too high strung about such petty matters, I just received my report card today (have been out of school for a little more than a week) and I got an A- in Algebra II, which is VERY strange considering that I did not have to take the final because my teacher said he was going to give me an A+ regardless. That being said, I don't want you guys to think that I have been sprinting for miles before I actually composed myself enough to write this. I did not fume over it and cuss out my teacher in my room. However, there is absolutely no reason why I should not have anything but an A+ because my teacher did the same thing last semester and I got an A+ then. Now that I think about it, my sister was in the same class and she got an A-. Do you think that is a coincidence? What do you guys suggest I do? And don't be annoyed at me or anything like that because I KNOW that if you did A+ work, then you would want to see that effort reflected in your transcripts. I really hope that this thread did not come across as arrogant or overly-obsessive, because I don't want to be known as the person who hungers after a perfect transcript. I know that it can only get me so far...but I do want to major in astrophysics. Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

ask your teacher!

only one problem. he's moving to a new school next year. i guess i can still e-mail him...hopefully he'll respond.

throw some Ds on that...

maybe in exchange for not doing the final he docked your grade a few points? a school policy?

Definitely email him. I had some situation like that...some mistake in my final grade (dropped from an A- to B-) and I never asked the teacher to correct it as it was the last day of school and I didn't realize about the error until I had already left. I'm still not too happy that I chose not to correct the situation (2 years ago, lol), and I'm sure you wouldn't be either if you didn't at least try to resolve it. If you can, I'd try to find a contact number as well

Ask your teacher. Even if he says he gave you the A- because he suddenly realized he hates you, he's going to another school next year, so you have no negative repercussions (except a blow to the ego). :P

ask your teacher about it.

yeah. i already e-mailed him. thanks for the help.
