I am an international student and I was accepted at American with a presidential scholarship and I want to enroll. However, I am also waiting for 2 other colleges to reply (I’ve been waitlisted), and if I do get accepted I think I will chose any of those two. My question is what are the consequences if I pay the enrollment fee and then decide that I won’t attend? I understand I will lose the 600$ non-refundable fee, but will I have to pay any other charges?

I’m pretty sure you lose only the $600.

Since part of the $600 is a housing registration fee, I remember seeing a note that if you don’t plan to actually enroll and use the housing, you need to notify them to avoid additional housing charges. You should be able to find that in your original acceptance package - if you don’t see it, I could dig through ours to find the info for you.

Just pay 400$ if you decide to enroll, then you can pay the rest… I’m not entirely sure about this, so I suggest you call AU directly.
