I don't think you have a chance at the Ivies, considering your SAT scores.
Is English your mother tongue?
Also, if you want to study something like math or physics, you might have a slightly higher chance, considering you have a high math score.

A lot of schools are need blind so go on collegeboard and do the "college matchmaker" questionaire and you should get schools that correspond to you.

Cornell has a reputation of admitting internationals with financial aid but not giving them enough aid so they could really attend.

i guess it might come down to recommendations and urs essays....

coz your stats are pretty simple...by simple i mean modest....most internationals would more or less have stats similar to yours...u need to stand out in your essays and hope for great recommendations...who knows they might just click for you...

from which country are u btw????

Do you need full scholarship?

I think you can do with a full tuition scholarship?

Go to the website from which you extracted your list of need based grant giving colleges, and see the section other awards and scholarships. Read the left section, which says student thinking they require full scholarships might want to look at full tuition sch...they may get additional funding partially through working...through departments...through other private scholraships programs...

If you can get a better SAT score your stats will be competitive. Your application will be compelling if your essay is very good and honest. Apply to Berea College

thank you all for replies
i guess it will depends on how well i do on essay and recommendation

english is not my mother language
im from south korea and have been here since february 2004
i forgot to mention that im in drama club and book club
and im thinking pre-med or engineering

A wat????ur r choosing btwn 2 totally different fields(pre-med n engineering!!!)..then I suppose u need to decide that thing first.......lol.......

u need to take the TOEFL as well ... Have u done that ?

Well, yes,I hav almost forgotten that....as ur CR marks are not more than 600,colleges MAY point out to u that u should giv TOEFL........

well i took TOEFL twice
first time i got 105 and second time i got about 95
i was kinda sick but i took it anyway cuz i didnt want to waste $150
it was a big mistake...

i know i need to choose between pre-med and engineering
but its hard and still considering which one to pick...

hey, wogud644, no-one here knows what your chances are at the ivies, and even anywhere else However, you should be honest with yourself and how realistic your choices seem. How many colleges are you applying to? At least, you should have safeties, matches, and one or two reaches. Besides, who said you couldn't make the ivies with those stats? As long as you ace your SAT IIs, you'll be fine. I know intls who made it into yale, princeton, with similar SAT Is, but >760s in the subject tests.
Your application surely says more about your background, etc than we can see here, and besides, no one has read your essay[s].
Colleges will see different things in you. Some will grab you, some will not.

And if you're applying to LACs, you don't have to worry too much about premed or engineering. Of course, you'll need to put something on the application, but after that, you can forget it.

Play your cards right, and you'll have the best laugh.

Also, take a deep, long look at these "small" colleges. Sometimes, that's where all the gold lies. Tougher competition at bigger schools, with more applicants.

A score of 105 on the iBT is pretty good actually. No college requires more than 100, and most colleges view TOEFL on a pass/fail basis.

You dont have to choose between premed and engineering. You can take both.

I'm planning to apply to Engineering school, and take the premed route. (i may drop premed if I do not like it). And I may major in biomedical engineering so the premed+engineering combination isnt quite a bad idea..

Well,a combind one a very good idea if ur interestd in both....but its a very bad idea if u take them both simultaneously.....coz it really take evrythin out of u(I hav experienced that...lol..)..so,better choose one or a combind one!!! n yes,Jrock is right.........
btw,Jrock, how many of these kinds hav u seen/noticed???

... i got satII scores today
they are worse than i thought....
bioM 550....:( chem 640 Math2 790
wut am i gonna do now?!?!?! :(

Hey,I hav seen many takin a retest in SAT1 but in ur case...retake SAT2...if ur not satisfied....n if u think that u can improve...

actually i cant do that anymore cuz im senior already
and i have sat1 this saturday
very nervous....
