Hi :) I just created an account today, after lurking for so long. I haven't been able to find any concrete answers to my questions... any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm about to start 8th grade, and I want to know what I can do now to help me in the long run, when I start high school, pre-med, medical, residency, and eventually my job.

In my last two years of high school, I'm planning to take the IB Diploma programme. Which courses would help me prepare most for what's to come in college? Should I take as many college credit classes as I can?
I also will be taking calculus in my freshman year (of high school), if that adds anything. In my freshman and sophomore years, I'm going to try to take all the science classes I can possibly take, and some social skills-type classes too. They'll all be AP, because that's the highest I can get before IB.

In college, should I spread out my pre-med courses? Or should I take them all in one year? Should I cram all my pre med classes into 2 years? Could I still graduate with that? I am not sure what I'll major in, but that doesn't worry me right now.

What exactly is after my 4 (or 3) years of medical school? Does it have anything to do with what I'll specialize in? Like internal medicine or pediatrics? (Those are the two I'm really into). Some sites say post-graduate training, some sites say residency. I live in NC, also, if that helps.

After residency, isn't there special training for your sub-specialty? What type of school do you train for that in?

Alright, my final question: When do you officially get M.D. after your name? I've been searching high and low for the answer but I cannot seem to find it.

I'd like all the information one could give me, thank you so much.
