Hi. I applied to RD CAS. I have seen people getting into UNC chapel hill and not NYU but never vice versa. I recently got rejected to UNC-Chapel Hill (I’m out-of-state, where it is like impossible). Is it possible to get into NYU? Are they more holistic because they are private and do not have a maximum rate for out-of-state applicants? I am very disappointed with my decision even though it was expected.
Also, if available, what does CAS look for in applicants?
Yeah impossible to say without your stats just based on one rejection from a state flagship, also never really heard people compare NYU with UNC-CH like that before. NYU is holistic and generally doesn’t differentiate between in state and out of state, the difference on that front being NYS residents are eligible for HEOP and CSTEP.
@SJ2727 - agree on NYU not caring about instate vs out of state , my point was in the metro area a ton of kids apply to MYU so they look for kids to fill out their wants and if the OP is in a major metro area NYU is harder to get into the closer to NYU you are.
