So im not entirely sure what i can do. I want to go to school for accounting/finance, and really wanted to go to University of north Carolina -Chapel Hill. It is a good price, and from my reading an excellent school for what i want to do. However i was foolish to not apply on time this fall, and now have to wait till next fall to apply, however i dont want to take a year off, and would very much prefer to go to school in the spring. Should i find another school and see how i life it, if not transfer? ( was considering baruch, binghamton, or university at buffalo ). Or should i just wait it out and apply next fall, with backup schools of course. Any ideas? Thanks alot!

And just a side note about chapel hill, i am pretty confident, through my research, i would be able to get into chapel hill

Personally, I think that you should find another school, unless you’re set on Chapel Hill and won’t be wasting your year off.

But…how did you not apply on time? Is the application due already? I thought that even early action isn’t due until around October, at the earliest. Maybe November. Heck, according to collegeboard the EA deadline is November 2. Am I not getting something here…?

im not sure, i called them and they told me that they only accept apps for the fall.

Have you spoken to your guidance counselor? I think it is highly likely that kagami is right and you are wrong about the deadline having passed. I suspect you are also underestimating the difficulty of getting into UNC from NY–is the research that makes you think it is a sure thing the same research that did not yield the correct application deadline?

I got all of my info from them. They have an early action deadline October 15th for fall 2012 semester, other then that they have other deadlines but it was just for the fall 2012 semester. nothing for fall.

Something is wrong with this, no way a big state school like UNC stopped accepting applicants in September! This is when the application process starts for most schools, so I would definitely double check their admissions website.

they accept apps for the next fall semester i guess. they said they dont accept apps for the spring. dunno maybe im wrong
