I need some help with finding safeties and matches.

I want to study theater, but I’ve recently decided that I want to double major with a BA in theater and (insert something else here, possibly business). Lol. But I plan on selecting theater as my “intended major”. So because I want to double major, I’ve decided that I am no longer interested in getting a BFA, so my list of schools has shifted quite a bit.

I have an upward trend in grades, 3.3 freshman year, 3.6 sophomore year and I’m aiming for a 3.9 this year. Keep in mind that this is an extremely competitive school with much more restricted grading policies than that of a public school; we sent a kid to Harvard this year with a 3.7. I have taken the maximum allowable number of classes both soph and junior year, and I’m going to self study for 2 Ap exams this year in addition to a formal (supervised) independant study on public transportation. SAT scores: I know I can get a 2000, I’m hoping for a 2100-2200. (I can get 750+ on reading and writing for sure, a 650 in math would be an accomplishment for me)

I am extremely active in 2 main EC’s, theater where I’m a leader both at the school and on the statewide and national level (Michigan state thespian board and I’m running for international board next summer), and I’m also the president of the Gay Straight Alliance, which I have measurable results of how my leadership has affected gay awareness at my school. These two are really major and I plan on writing my essay about the GSA.

OK, list of schools:

Amherst
Brown
Carnegie Mellon (only BFA program I’m applying to)
DePaul
Michigan State
Northwestern
Stanford - I attended EPGY and I’m going to write a letter to the admissions department saying how much I love the school and how the experience inspired me to do even more with the gay straight alliance and also start a politics education club where we make presentations to the student body and give the “full story” behind political issues.
Syracuse
UCB
UMich
UCLA
UCSD
Illinois
USC
UVA
Wake Forest - legacy
Yale

So my question is, are any of these safeties? I dont’ really think so, except maybe Michigan and MSU because I’m in state, DePaul, and maybe Syracuse.

I need to find some safeties and matches. It must be at least 3000 students UNLESS it’s a well-respected liberal arts school. Nothing rural, must have a closeby college town and be within an hour’s drive to a “regular” city. Must have both a decent theater program to get into (BA, not BFA) and must also have a business program that won’t be too hard to transfer into and double major.

Name brand is kind of important to me. And as far as location goes, I’d like to stay in the midwest, northeast or West.

Thanks in advance!
