I posted a thread with my stats already, but I am asking a different question now. so here we go
GPA:3.683 UW 4.55W after Junior Year...I had a bad Frosh year. My GPA from 10th to 11th is 3.8.
48 out of 742. And I go to a pretty competitive public high school. I mean.. every year 30 kids go to top 25 colleges. and a lot of kids (like 50 kids) go to U of Illinois
3.73 UW 4.66W after first semester of Senior Year Prolly will be ranked 35 (ish)
ACT:33 (took one again on June 9th) Eng:31 Math:34 Reading:34 Science:34

tutured a kid from Korea by talking to him on the phone every week.

oh yea. I got a 4 in AP US History exam.... bad
So there u go. Where should I apply and at what colleges do i have a decent chance as ED(EA) or RD?

Here are some likely schools for you (the last is a slight reach)--although, as the others said, knowing what you are looking for will help.

Michigan (about 55-45)
Penn State (about 65-35)
Boston College (about 50-50)
NYU (about 60-40)
Tufts (about 50-50)
Ohio State (about 70-30)
Washington (about 65-35)
Boston University (about 75-25)
USC (about 55-45)
Rice (about 45-55)

hm. Is there a chance for me at top 25 colleges? ex. U of Chicago EA
Is it possible for you guys to chance me at those places? I would certainly appreciate it. BTW I came to America in 2001 and worked my way up to this. That is the reason my freshman year was bad... (barely spoke english lol)
Would this factor in?

Sure, definitely speak about your experiences in your first years in the U.S. -- it makes you unique (most kids come when they're younger) and it's definitely a part of who you are that's worth mentioning. Good luck!

If you will do so, you will note that I ranked Rice as only a 45% chance--not 50% or better. I ranked Tufts right at 50%--although one could argue (like you have) that it should be slightly lower--like slight reach (40-45%).

However, I never can never totally rely on those who are arguing that their school should be ranked tougher to get into--since they have personal reasons for doing so (and I know lollabelle is going to Tufts right now).
