I need some help

Hi Guys, first post on this website. I’m currently a sophomore at one of the top prep high schools in America (I’m sorry for sounding arrogant but it’s true). I’m taking 2 AP’s and all my other classes are honors, and have a 3.7ish gpa. I’m in two clubs that are currently pulling me in opposite directions and don’t have time for both. One is my school newspaper, which I love and I will be editor in chief when I am a senior. The second is debate, and I strongly dislike it. My coach is the worst person I’ve ever met, and it takes a HUGE amount of my time. The only reason I’m in it is because of how good I hear it is for college. Is it worth it? I really want to go to and Ivy, so any advice would be great. Thanks!

Drop what you hate and pick up something new. Try to do something interesting with your summers.

Drop debate. Pick up something else that you like. Try volunteering in the village/town/neighborhood your prep school is located in, or in a nearby community.

Drop what you hate and do what you love. Students need to stop doing what “looks good” and do what they are passionate about. Colleges want authentic people.
