I need some information about financial aid.

Financial Background
I live with my grandma and mom in Georgia, making less than 12,000 grand a year. My grandma recieves money from the government monthly(forgot what it was called). We are currently on food stamps.

Currently a Senior in high school.
GPA: 3.74
Took 1 AP in junior, 2 more in senior.
Current SAT : 1660 (hoping to get over 1700 by Nov SAT)
Did some community service, and clubs in my junior and senior year.

How much do you guys think i might recieve from financial aid + HOPE? Im really looking foward to go to University of Georgia.

You may be entitled for the full Pell Grant. Only way to find out is to figure out your EFC when applying for FAFSA. As for the HOPE grant I am unaware of the outcome. You should apply for FAFSA and see the estimated results.

If your income is really at the level you report AND you are receiving food stamps…I believe you would qualify for an auto $0 EFC per FAFSA (someone else will verify if I am wrong). You would at least get the full Pell Grant (about $5400) and the Stafford loan ($5500). One would hope that you would get the Hope as well…I don’t really know how you qualify for that one but there are folks on this forum who do.

Does Georgia have it’s estimated cost calculator up and running yet? Does the state of Georgia have scholarships for students that are going to attend an in-state college? Check with your guidance office to see if they have a list of local scholarships.

According to this page, HOPE still covers 90% of tuition costs as long as you maintain a 3.0:

The current max for Pell is $5550/year.
