I just heard that in order to send my SAT scores I need to pay a certain amount of money. Is this true? I also heard that you can apply to 4 schools without paying. Can somebody please clarify and do you happen to know what the amount is. What about TOEFL? GRE?
When you take the SAT exam you can designate 4 schools to send your scores for free but they will be sent before you see the results. If you choose to send your scores after you have received your results, you will pay a fee to send to each school. Do not know about GRE or TOEFL, sorry.
It’s about $12 per school I think. I personally don’t recommend sending the scores for free before you know them, but if you have no other choice, then do so. It’s much better to know what your scores are before giving them to the schools. You might qualify for SAT fee waivers; you’d have to talk to your guidance counselor about that.

I agree with @TheDidactic. However, be aware that some universities REQUIRE applicants to submit ALL SAT I or ACT (with writing) results. You would be wise to investigate the individual standardized testing guidelines of your target schools (there is no universal policy).
