Hey guys, well I am a rising senior ready to apply to colleges, but only one has me absolutely trilled to want to attend(UVA)?

I am a social guy who likes everyone, kind of preppy(not like ultra loves to wear gay clothes everyday, but I do like wearin polos and lookin good), and loves football and basketball?
Where is a good place other than UVA that has division 1 sports with a large student body and is as competitive good as UVA schooling wise(hope to become a cardiologist one day)

I wanna stay close to home, VA, but I dont wanna end up going to Virginia Tech, or VCU, which are way to low for my standards lol, not to sound cocky.

but then again I dont wanna go to William and MAry cause thats way to intellectual for me(very nerdy from what I hear). Yea my brother goes to UVA and tells me all this awsome stuff about UVA and how everyone is nice and talks to everyone and no one is judged cause everyone is smart, and I love to go to his kinda place cause I love talkin to random people about stuff.

I was thinking about applying to UVA and UNC chapel hill, and probably William and Mary, and Virginia Tech, just in case.

Do you guys know any other colleges like UVA that have division 1 sports, cause thats so cool, a smart school with awsome sports, just what I want!(even thought they are only average they play big name colleges)

"gay clothes" < I was unaware that inanimate objects could have a sexual preference.

Anyways, William and Mary is not a nerdy school, it is full of richer, smarter kids who had good stats, but not enough to make it into the Ivy League, so they are not that smart. I think you would fit in here if you had the right stats.

What about James Madison University?

P.S. I am from VA, so I actually know some of the colleges.

what are your stats like?

University of Wisconsin-Madison
Miami University
University of Texas-Austin

How about Vanderbilt?

Duke...except if you love football you might as well slit your wrists if you go to Duke.

Seconding Wake Forest. Duke! Perhaps UMaryland? or even UDelaware?

how about clemson for somewhere less selective?

UMICH if you are willing to go farther away

Going to UVa for in-state tuition is one of the best deals in the country. If you think you might not get into UVa, you're not going to get into any of the schools that would be worth going to instead of another school for in-state tuition.

UVA and UNC seem like a good start. If you can do without football, Duke might work. What about Rutgers (or do all the NJ preps head out of state?)?

great, thanks lol I am crackin up at ur "gay clothes" comment

but its seems like some of the colleges you listed accepted not so smart people, I really want to be surrounded by people who have the same ambitions as I do because I would be able to stay on track. Also Yea I was considering Duke, but the location seems deadly literally.

Isnt Duke in like a really malicious city? I dunno thats what I heard.

and the reason i dislike william and mary is because people who typically go there, go there strictly for school reasons, considering they have very little sports or other social stuff like that, and I am pretty school related but I am also in love with sports and having fun.

How about Davidson College?

university of florida

if you can't get into UVA in-state, chances are not likely you'll get into schools like Duke or UNC-Chapel Hill out-of-state. it's not really worth your time to apply to a school more selective than UVA.

I am pretty confident that I can get into UVA in state, but I dont wanna jinx it so im just trying to find some other really really hard, but fun schools.
