I need some serious help.

Okay well I did really poorly on the ACT's and I took so much of my time preparing for them. I'm a pretty smart kid but I just did so bad on my ACT's and I need help getting my scores up. I took at least 5 practice tests and took an ACT class for 2 months, twice a week for 4 hours. I got a 24, my Math and Science scores are pretty decent, both 28's. However I am slacking on English and Reading miserably, I got a 20 and 21, respectively. Honestly, I think I do well on the sections and then I get the scores back and I did horrible. During my 3 years in High School so far in all of my English classes I have received at least an A-. If anyone could give me some pointers or something to help me boost my total score to a 27-29 I would really appreciate it greatly.

hey i'm in the same situation.
i have decent grades (few B's) and take very challenging AP classes.
But not so much on the standardized test--I'm not a good test taker esp under time and pressure.
but there's not much you can do, except practice practice and practice. it's an innate ability--some are just good at taking it.
Are you a junior or sophomore? Then I suggest just keep doing it. For me, I'm a senior--there's not much I can do to improve my scores tremendously like till one more month to come. If your scores suck, let's hope your extracurriculars and personal essay make up for it. It also depend on what college you wanna go to--some don't need those test at all. Good luck!

You need to work on your reading comprehension skills and possibly grammer to get those scores up. Work on questions like: getting the facts, getting the main idea, identifying inferences, and vocabulary.
