Im trying to write my transfer essay prompt for UC's and I was wondering if I should put how my school doesnt keep me motivated?
My intended major is structural engineering with a minor in architectural design.. i first started talking about a building that caught my attention.. and then i was thinking maybe i can write how my school is not the best area to keep my drive and inspirations on architecture?

Hmm.. I think you should do that, since the college would know how honest you are. Make sure you make your interest in your major look genuine, since that is what they care

Cheers

great. thanks for the response.

oh.. i have another question.. does writing how my school's environment does not inspire my drive towards my major still fall within the prompt, "What is your intended major? Discuss how your interest in the subject developed and describe any experience you have had in the field - such as volunteer work, internships and employment, participation in student organizations and activities - and what you have gained from your involvement"?

...I would hesitate to write about an unmotivating school environment. Honesty is wonderful; however, an admissions reader may see this attitude as not taking responsibility (not that that is my assumption).

well.. i was going to put like a few setences of that.. then i was going to talk about what i did to keep me motivated. then i began talking about how i started to do constructive projects.. things that dealt with my major
