So, I've been getting threatening myspace messages. I might get into a fight/get "jumped"/rumble. Any tips or tricks? I'm nervous.

Skylarsky, I can't help you with the fighting but I did laugh at your location "Oklahoma, get me out." I spent a college spring break in Ok playing softball 25 years ago and was miserable. Went back a few years ago for the World Cup of Softball. The softball was awesome but, well, that was about all I enjoyed. My d says the entire state smells like barbeque and that she has never seen bbq sauce put on so many foods! I hope you get out if that is your dream.

Tip#1. Don't get into fight.
Fight sucks. Fight is not romantic. If you win, you won't feel good.. You may die. Talk yourself out. Best way to do this is to put all threats into joke.
Tip#2.
If there are more than 3/4 (or you couldn't possible handle them) people against you and no one to help -- run. This looks cowardly but isn't. This is smart. Heroes are laying in hospitals with brain injuries.
Exception: when you're fighting for someone who is weaker. The best thing to do then is make him/her run and try to stop the threat.
Tip#3. If you should fight -- fight.
Forget wrestling or boxing. Try to kick their asses as much as possible with all the methods possible. Your goal is to stay alive and make them be unable to continue fighting.
Tip#4. Fight as if you are going to die.
This is impossible but the less fear you have, the better you are. Your chances of dying are relatively small -- body can handle various damages, so don't worry about that.
Fighting is about psychology, not strength, endurance, or tricks. It is about mindset and psychological strength.

Tip#5. Don't go over the bar. Keep everything in frame of self-defense (especially in US). Someone should advice on this more. I have never been fighting in the US -- it's really different here than in post-Soviet Union-countries :) I am shocked when people who look like criminals great me instead of trying to steal something :))

I wouldn't worry about threatening myspace messages though. People who threaten someone online are fat nerds :) Online threat is almost like online flirt :)

This was kind of a joke. Yes, I am actually getting threatening myspace messages online from someone at my school. No, I probably won't fight them. I'm 17 and I'm fully aware that that is far too old for such childish things. However, I'm never going to be too old to make pointless, stupid threads.
