I need to update my CSS PROFILE...

I know I'm just supposed to print it out and make corrections with a pen, but where do I mail it? The office of undergrad admissions where I sent my transcripts and everything? Or is there a different address for financial aid documents?

Also, if I mail it around February 1st, will I make the early deadline of Feb 15th? I know it usually takes mailed documents 2-3 weeks to get processed, but since this is only an update (I sent the first PROFILE in November), it won't interfere with any deadlines, right?

Bump, can someone please help me with my nubbish questions T_T

I submitted the FAFSA and got an EFC of 0. However, some of my estimates and data on my PROFILE were messed up (for example, mine and my parents savings have decreased, and my parents estimate for 2010 income was $20k higher than it’s gonna be…) so I want to fix that ASAP.

deadlines are usually done by postmarked date, which is marked usually the day or day after it’s sent, so if you send it feb 1st and it gets postmarked feb 2nd and is received feb 20th, it’s the same as if you had it in by feb 2nd. They usually do deadlines earlier than they really need to make up for delays with the postal system.

send it wherever you sent your FAFSA, they’re not robots, if you send them something, they’ll find out where it goes, but I’m sure they have a preference so it requires less work to sort everything out.

Yep, but I think I read somewhere (for the FAFSA at least, not sure for PROFILE) that that priority date is the received/processed date, not the postmark date.

Yosup, can you make the corrections, scan the forms, send as a PDF to fin aid office and ask them for a confirmation of receipt? It will get to your file faster and you need to get as much aid as possibly available as I recall. Go to the financial aid link that’s under the admissions navigation for the email address and make sure to include your ID. You can also fax it so you might want to email to ask them.
Good luck.
Cheers,
K

Thanks kmc. I’m going to call them tomorrow, and hopefully they’ll let me scan it and e-mail it. If not, I’ll just have to mail it and hope for the best.

And yes, I finally did the FAFSA yesterday, and found out my EFC = 0. Do you think the PROFILE could really mess this up? The major mistakes I made are on 2010 estimates, and things like that, so even if for some reason the PROFILE didn’t make it in time, it shouldn’t mess things up too much should it?

Thanks again kmc, I really appreciate all the advice you’ve given me.

Just make sure you TELL them a.s.a.p. I do not believe it will mess you up. They’re busy right now but generally great to deal with. No worries!
